90's Flashback: Felicia's Journey (1999)

Felicia's Journey is an addictive little thriller from director Atom Egoyan. Felicia (Elaine Cassidy) makes her way from Ireland to Birmingham in search of her boyfriend who has deceived her about his employment plans. Once in Birmingham she repeatedly encounters loner Joe (Bob Hoskins), who offers her the hand of friendship. But Joe is a serial killer, and these encounters are all too well organised.

Felicia's Journey is an emotional tale, that really pulls at your heartstrings it opens up the eyes of the viewer over the tensions in Ireland, and the desperation of a young girl in love. It's slow burning tale, and it's disturbing behaviour courtesy of the great Bob Hoskins will really get under your skin.
