Sony, Universal & Warner Step Up To Save HMV
After a week of rumours, today it has been revealed that a consortium of Sony, Universal and Warner may have agreed a rescue package for HMV.
It is suggested that the consortium will offer reduced costs, better payment terms, and exclusive stock to make HMV more appealing. Last week it was revealed that a great number of companies future's demise was on the cards if HMV was allowed to fail, this includes companies owned or part owned by the consortium.
The above is just one of 50 expressions of interest in the company, it is thought that some shops could be closed, the Irish and foreign arm sold, but HMV could still maintain a high presence on the high street.
