80's Flashback: Down And Out In Beverly Hills

When Disney set up a separate company to release movies for the adult audience, it was Splash and Down And Out In Beverly Hills that made Touchstone a success. Down And Out In Beverly Hills is a proper romp of a movie, based on a French play.

When Dave (Richard Dreyfus) has a midlife crisis he takes in a homeless man called Jerry (Nick Nolte), Jerry changes Dave and the rest of the houses lives, but not before it turns their worlds upside down, and inside out.

The movie drew great attention as it bought both Dreyfus and Bette Midler back to the cinema, after long stints away from the screen.

Very much a cult movie many do not really enjoy the movie until they have seen it for a second time.
