70's Flashback: Picnic At Hanging Rock

Picnic At Hanging Rock might look very nice on the surface, but it is far from this. Set at the turn of the 1900's a group of schoolgirls go for a school trip, during the afternoon something strange happens and several of the girls go missing. When the investigation begins things get even more sour, and one mystery opens up a rift at the school.

Interestingly many people believe that Picnic At Hanging Rock is a true tale, such is the power of the direction, and the quality of the writing. In the UK the movie was awarded a PG certificate, and to this day it remains one of the more disturbing PG rated movies ever made. It's haunting score contains at least 50% of the movies power, but its the stunning visuals that will haunt you long after the end credits roll.
